About Japan

In the ancient art of Noh theatre the main characters wear masks throughout the performance. This requires the audience to interpret nuanced signs in order to understand the drama. Despite its outward modernity the Japan of today remains, in many ways, a country of masks. Without some help outsiders can struggle to understand what is really going on in Japan and why it may even be appropriate, from time to time, to go against one's normal business instincts.

On our site we are continuously assembling a collection of viewpoints, information and articles to help begin your process of immersion. Please enjoy, and if you have any comments or questions please feel free to get in touch with me,
